Edgar Degas: Moments of Observing
Edgar Degas (1834 -1917), painter, graphic artist, sculptor, photographer and collector was one of the most radical artists of Modernism. He was a great innovator in all the spheres of his activity, with a tendency to experiment and with a different view of the reality that surrounded him. One of the founders of Impressionism and a steadfast participant in this movement, he remained dedicated to the traditional approach to art, in which the drawing and the form occupied the crucial position, and he scornfully rejected the simplicity and spontaneity of his colleagues as a fundamental aspect of modern art.
