This study was published to accompany a circulating exhibition held at the Whitney Museum and five other venues. The publication, which catalogues prints and a number of preparatory drawings, was based on Zigrosser's earlier catalogues which were prepared with the help of the artist and his wife, but which did not include prints donated subsequently to the Whitney.
