This is an early publication but it nonetheless gives detailed information, with references to the pictues, commissioners, colleagues, the art market, etc. The first section lists ca. 890 authentic works that were mentioned in the artist's letters or papers, in publications printed or engravings executed during his lifetime, auction sales, or exhibited in important loan exhibitions. Dating is difficult since no exact records where kept, and signatures vary greatly and some works were reworked, etc., but there is a list of pictures assembled by A. Graves.
