This is essentially a monograph of the artist with a list of engravings after Zoffany's original paintings. The publication includes genealogical tables, a copy of Zoffany's last will and testament, a list of pictures and personal effects from his posthumous sale, and other documents related to his life and works. The Appendix includes a register of works by Zoffany organized by collection, with a supplemental list of authentic works. There are also lists of engravings after Zoffany's paintings, pictures exhibited by Zoffany, and works exhibited by Zoffany, but whose whereabouts are currently unknown.
