In addition to the catalogue raisonné, the publication contains the essays on Van Dyck's art and critical fortunes. The catalogue raisonné is divided into two parts. The first volume deals with works from 1613 to1626, and contains catalogue entries 1 to 470. Volume 2 covers the period 1626 to 1641, and continues with entries 471 to 984. There is a separate section listing 105 paintings attributed to Van Dyck.
