The first edition of ‘Lucas und Marten van Valckenborch, 1535-1597 und 1534-1612: Das Gesamtwerk mit kritischem Oeuvrekatalog’ by Dr. Alexander Wied was published in 1990 and was instantly a tremendous success. It gave a deep and profound insights of work of Lucas and Marten van Valckenborch. Since 1990 the book was not edited or republished.

Today Dr. Alexander Wied and The Catalogue Rouge team proudly presents new and edited ebook augmented with the monograph published in Jahrbuch des Kunsthistorischen Museums Wien 2004/05, band 6/7.

The catalogue raisonné is divided into two sections dedicated to Lucas and Marten van Valckenborch. Each section begins with a discussion of the artist's life and career, followed by the catalogues of painitngs and graphic works/drawings.. 
The catalogues raisonnés of the paintings contains separate sections for lost works, questionable paintings, works by followers or from the artist's studio, and rejected attributions. There is also a separate section for the graphic works.

In addition to the catalogues raisonnes of the artists' works, the publication includes brief biographies of the artists, a concordance, lists of collections housing the artists' works, a genealogical table, and a bibliography.

As of today it is the most complete edition of the works of van Valckenborch brothers. The new book exists in e-format only and can be purchased through Catalogue Rouge
