The catalogue was originally published in 1974; reprinted in 1981 and 1990. The 1990 edition includes new illustrations and additional information, including notes on a handful of non-catalogued pieces. The catalogue was compiled based on sales catalogues used at Barye's various workshops, particularly the Catalogue Quai des Celestins, 4, which is included as an appendix.
