López-Rey's catalogue raisonné of Velasquez's paintings first appeared in 1963 (London: Faber & Faber), but with only one color plate. He subsequently issued other revised publications on the artist ("Velázquez' Work and World", 1968; "Velázquez: The Artist as a Maker", 1979 (listed in this database); and "Velazquez", 1980. Since there are varying differences in attribution, all volumes should be consulted. This edition was updated by Odile Delenda.
