Only for non-commercial, educational and research purposes you can here download digital copies of Friedländer’s 14 volumes on Early Netherlandish Paintings, published by between 1967 and 1973, under the auspices and with the aid of the Governments of Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands within the framework of their Cultural Agreements. The Study Centre and the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA) were fully involved in this ambitious project, both in the advisory committee as in the editorial board. The edition was published under the direction of Ernest Goldschmidt and the original copyright belonged to A.W.Sijthoff’s Uitgeversmaatschappij, Leyden, the Netherlands. The work immediately became - and still is - the major reference for every scholar studying Early Netherlandish Paintings. The professional digitization of this series has been done in 2013 by Acmis, Antwerp. All efforts have been made to find the current copyright holders. Any copyright holder who pretends to be deprived is invited to contact info@cataloguerouge.com.
